I teach in an urban school district in the Northeast. Our school has 78% of families below the poverty line and 100% of the students receive free and reduced lunch. We have a high population of English Language learners (50%), most of whom speak two languages and struggle to communicate their thoughts clearly. Many students come to the classroom without school supplies and books for reading. Students do not have many opportunities to work with interactive technology throughout the day.
