Edison Elementary is a Title I school. Our student population is very culturally diverse and we serve an extremely lower income group of students and families. That being said, our classrooms are full of hard working students and teachers. Each year we spend countless hours working toward our end of year goals, and more often then not they are met.
The students in my class are delightful They are five and six-year-olds who love school and love learning. My kindergarten students work hard, follow directions, treat their friends kindly, and love their families.
While they have a variety of challenges that they face because of their home lives, they come to school each day ready to learn. In kindergarten, our primary goal is to be reading on grade level by the end of the year. My students learn to love reading throughout the year because of daily work that we do, and I love teaching them. We work hard, and that work pays off.
