I teach at a Title 1 school full of diverse learners from a variety of economic and cultural backgrounds. Our school has a free and reduced lunch rate of over 57%, and for many students, English is their second language. My class is a "Sheltered IEP Class" which means some students qualify for special education due to learning disabilities or other health impairments. The CIA Approach allows every student to participate in these shared reading experiences and increases the cognitive abilities of all learners.
