My students are 7 and 8 year olds who live in a suburban area. Our school has a very high poverty rate. We have about 50% of our students who receive free or reduced price lunches. Our school always encourages our students to read and we participate in the Accelerated Reader program. The majority of my students are starting this school year behind grade level in reading. This is why they need access to books at their current level.
