I am a new school librarian, and I am in the process of creating a new common learning space that the entire school can enjoy. Previously this library has not been very inviting or functional for our campus, and I am determined to change that environment. I teach on a very diverse Title 1 campus, and my goal is to create a learning community that brings students and teachers together to read, explore, collaborate, create, and engage through book clubs, makerspace activities, events, and game clubs. I have so many ideas to implement, but unfortunately my budget doesn't have room for everything. I hope to begin the new school year with an amazing transformation for my students and teachers.
