Thank you for taking the time to look at my projects.
I work at an inner-city middle school. I have made it my mission to give all students a gateway into mathematical reasoning and understanding, regardless of their past circumstances and current level of understanding . The school is located in a hard-working, but low income neighborhood. The students here have a wide range of mathematical knowledge. 40% of the students are English Language Learners, 13% of the students require special education services, and 36% of our students are in accelerated math classes. Our student's needs are diverse and the school's budget only goes so far. Ultimately our dedicated math teachers have to use their own money to keep up with the ever-diverse needs of students in any individual math class. But, quality math materials are expensive, and we often look to the community to help defray some of the costs.
