My school is located in Codman Square which is a historic district in the Dorchester neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts. The area has a long history as a major civic center in Dorchester, and is now a major commercial hub.
At my school, teachers educate the whole student: mind, body, and character. With the city and world as our classroom, we build a school community rich in rigorous academics and daily experiences of discovery.
I teach art to students in grades K1-8. 98% of my students are of color and 75% qualify for free or reduced lunch. The home languages of my students include: Spanish, French, Igbo, Somali, Cape Verdean Creole, Haitian Creole, and English.
