There are over 500 students in the school, and my class size is currently 19 students. There is a good chance there will be more additions to my class. A portion of my class is English Language Learners with various primary languages, including but not limited to Spanish, Arabic, and Russian. My students encompass all of the learning styles; visual, auditory and kinesthetic; therefore, it's imperative for me to employ different and engaging teaching techniques.
Our school demographic is quickly changing to a higher needs population. The school community is very tight knit and supportive. Teachers work in grade level PLC's, and we are collaborative in our work and classroom preparation. We also have an involved parent community, many of whom are regular albeit untrained volunteers.
