The students will be able to use the Legos at home to create their own algorithms. Their classmates will need to recreate the Legos construction based on the algorithm provided. Students will be placed into groups and each group will have two sets of Legos.
The experience of creating algorithms without using a computer is a valuable experience which I look forward to sharing with my students.
Not only will students create and share their algorithm, they will attempt to follow the algorithm of a classmate. This will help improve communication between the students and the teacher.
