My students come from all over the globe, representative of many amazing cultures and speaking a variety of languages. Many of them are recent arrived immigrants and refugees from war torn countries. Nevertheless, they are fearless and ready to learn. They come to school with a courageous and loving attitude excited for what lies ahead. Many come barely speaking any English, but leave with the knowledge and skills to prepare them for the future. They soon develop the desire and motivation to become a LIFE LONG READER and WRITER and spread this excitement along to their friends and family.
Our school consists of low income, high poverty students, but they look forward to coming to school everyday and show their enthusiasm through their hard work and grit. My kindergarteners amaze me at what they accomplish within one school year and upon completion, they are ready to begin first grade.
