I service over 70 students in grades 2nd - 5th. All of my students are pulled into small group each day, and very eager to learn. Since it is a different setting than the classroom, at times it is difficult for them to focus and stay on task. They come from various backgrounds in a low income neighborhood where the parents are very hard working. My students require that extra everything that a teacher gives them. Extra help, extra instruction, extra hugs, extra attention and guidance.
Therefore, I'm trying to create an environment where they are excited to come to! I'm trying to create a space where my students are excited to come and learn, be comfortable and have the ability to focus on all the exciting math skills we are working on!
