Preschoolers with special needs want to be zooming along the 21st century technology super highway like their typical peers!
Our class has young children with special needs ranging from the entire spectrum of autism disorders to cerebral palsy, mental retardation, speech and language impediments, and many who are simple labeled "developmentally delayed." The few technology items we have in our classroom are ancient hand-me-downs, and difficult for these little ones to access. Our District does not provide systems for our special education preschool classrooms, so there is great disparity from school to school. Those schools in wealthier areas may get many donations from their families, but we are not in such an area. Our students are bused to our school from very impoverished homes.
