I love my students. They happen to be the most inquisitive and energetic students I have taught thus far. It is amazing that they maintain this attitude in light of the stigma that is associated with our school. Yes we are located in a high poverty area. It is true that the majority of my students come form low income families. It is also true that a large portion of my students read below grade level. However, all things considered my current students have the ability to change all of those statistics. My students have the drive and determination to change the narrative concerning our school and neighborhood.
