Our class is comprised of twelve Kindergarten through 2nd grade students with moderate to severe disabilities. Our students are some of the hardest working students despite the challenges they face on a daily basis. Though my students have disabilities, they definitely don't let that, or anything else, hold them back from doing their best. Many of our students, in addition to having a disability, are also English Language Learners which introduces another set of challenges to overcome in order to master some of the academic, language, and behavioral goals they have.
Though our school is very supportive of all of our students and wants to support the education of every child, our resources are limited. We are, as are so many other schools, struggling under current budget restraints and are doing our best to keep up with our students needs and balancing that with what we have available to engage students in meaningful ways.
