My students are incredibly hard working girls and boys who are eager to learn the sport of soccer. Some of them are incredibly talented and some have never played a day in their lives, but all are passionate about learning the game and being a part of the team.
Our school is located on the south side of Chicago in project housing where almost all of my students struggle to pay for the equipment necessary to play. I spend most of my soccer pay on shoes, shin guards, and socks for my players, and cannot afford the additional materials needed to continue their growth as players.
When I started teaching here, the girls team was in 2nd division and has since moved to 1st division the last two years. I want to ensure my students maintain this success and gain the confidence they need for the future.
