Research shows that when students are provided some autonomy and control in their learning and workspace they become more invested in their own success. Flexible seating also provides students with the opportunity to make responsible choices in where they work and who they work with throughout the day.
The past few years have shown that students are coming to school with a greater need for sensory input. Providing different seating choices allows teachers to help students navigate a choice that will meet these needs. The goal is to help children to self regulate these needs.
In the past I have used collections of used and unwanted furniture from yard sale sites and bulk trash days. I am excited to provide my student with quality specially designed seating that will enhance their learning experience.
