One of my students' favorite subjects is art. By combining math and art students gain practice with core math skills in a hands on, immersive way. Due to the pandemic there have been long sections of time that students did not have the ability to delve into math and art much as they would of otherwise been able to. While creating food containers they practice area and perimeter. Through creating geometric art students will gain practice with angles and degrees. I love seeing how my students capabilities grow in cross-curricular core standards through science. Math applications through art reinforce what they are learning in a way that will help students realize that math is used in everyday life. Thank you for helping my amazing students further develop their educational abilities.
