These 18 Ukuleles (and bags for protection) will be strummed by over 220 students a year! I would love for my 3rd through 5th graders to take what they've learned about string instruments, chords, rhythms, and perseverance and transfer that learning onto the ukulele! These kids are from families which can't afford instruments or lessons, so any opportunity they have with instruments in my classroom is a valued one. Our classroom already has several coveted ukuleles. I'd love to make them available to all students in a class.
My music students look forward to music class knowing I have special things in store for them. This year students will learn C Major, F Major, G7, and A minor chords. We'll learn different strumming patterns and the parts of the ukulele. With the 5th graders, we'll work on ear training as I teach them to tune their own instrument.
Such a small investment will go such a long ways for many years to come and for so many students. Thank you for considering our musical corner of the world!
