This is a rural school in the west, and many of the students have ancestors who have lived in this same town. Though some of the students have opportunities to travel and see the world through different perspectives, many do not. Through reading these books, students will learn of different people, practices, and lifestyles. Students will not only see differences but similarities as well, and this will help broaden their horizons.
