I have the wonderful opportunity to teach at Freedom Crest Elementary School, in Menifee, CA. I am a tech leader and the English Language Development teacher and team leader for 4th grade. I have a very supportive principal who encourages me to explore innovative ideas to enhance student engagement and learning with my 4th grade students. Our student population is primarily from lower middle class to families from a low socio-economic status; approximately 50% Hispanic/35% White/15% African American. Our free/reduced lunch population is approximately 30%. I have some students who do not have computers or internet access at home. We have Chrome books 1:1 for each class. Currently, we have four 4th grade teachers at our site. Unfortunately, there is poor participation in PTA and any fundraising efforts. I have 30 students and there is some mobility among the students (military).
