As a teacher of a Title 1 school, with 100% free and reduced lunch, I am faced with many challenges that other schools might not deal with. My students enter Pre-K and for many it is their first time away from their home. Some come into a classroom where they do not speak the native language. All are resilient and eager to learn. At the ages of four and five, they are sponges and absorb everything around them. They desire love and attention. They desire to feel like they belong. They want to succeed. Their curiosity is contagious and their laughter can bring a smile to anyone's face.
