Many of my students come from struggling homes where survival is priority. Things I take for granted like buying a composition notebook might make a difference in whether a student eats. Most of my students are eager to learn, but supplies often get in the way. Our school budget allows for the basics and a large portion of that is used to ensure the students are fed at school three times a day. I know if given the opportunity, my scholars would rise to the occasion and prove to everyone that they can overcome their circumstances.
