The Bird School Project helps students understand the environment around them by getting them excited about the birds we see every day. Students will get expert help using binoculars, identifying birds, and observing bird behavior.
In this way, they will become familiar with our local birdlife and come to see their own role in protecting both the birds and the watershed they share with us. The Bird School Project will foster a sense of stewardship and wonder in my students, and the ornithologists will mentor my young naturalists as they develop a passion and a growing expertise in natural history.
