Most of my students have big goals to become doctors, teachers, athletes, and artists. They have huge hearts and their families have deep respect for education, however, they don't have the means to provide the necessary supplies for learning. Our school district has a partnership with a local university that guarantees college admission with a 3.0 GPA, yet only 1 out of 5 students make it to college and take that opportunity that we offer. We plan to address Common Core Standards through college preparatory mathematics, which will helps students grow in communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity. I believe that bringing the fun back in learning will help students succeed, especially in math. We work hard throughout the week with solving tasks to gain skills necessary to excel in the workforce. What better way to build teamwork through math games for Fun Friday? They deserve it!
