My students are mathematicians, problem solvers and most of all, scholars with a thirst for new knowledge. My class consists of 15 amazing 2nd and 1st grade students with disabilities ranging from specific learning disabilities to autism. They all want to learn; they have so much potential. Although it may seem like the odds are against them by coming from low income families, with little to no access to Internet or technology at home, this doesn't stop their drive and interest. With a single PC and Promethean Board in my classroom, my students are eager for much more technology. They enjoy the flexibility of working and watching different videos and instructional games. They learn in various ways. With the integration of these tablets, my students would be able to continue their learning further from what was taught in whole group and share with parents at home. These tablets will provide the ability to channel technology into their math learning.
