My first grade students attend elementary school in the Philadelphia District. Lack of funding can eliminate the purchase of "extras" when books still need to be purchased, and it can at times leave the children with a serious disadvantage when it comes down to performance. My eager students would greatly appreciate the possibility of learning and practicing math skills at centers that have these "extras."
