The Garden is an important component of our educational environment. We are located in a socially and economically disadvantaged neighborhood in Richmond, CA and the garden provides opportunity for exploration and education that students may otherwise not experience. Our school is 100% free school lunch, and is made up of 100% minority populations. Despite our disadvantages we have made tremendous strides in improving our test scores and the social and emotional environment. We have served as a model school for system wide programs and interventions and rank among the top in the district on state testing. Kids love the garden, we need help to restock it and keep seasonal fruits, herbs and vegetables growing. Our school is pre-K-6th grade serving regular and special education students. We value diversity in our students and in our education through such programs as music, physical education, and the garden. Please help us overcome our challenges faced by the recent break-in.
