My school and students are from an urban setting, in which there are 653 students. The population of students at the school are African-American and Hispanic decent. I'm a 4th and 5th grade Special Education Resource Room teacher for Moderate Special Needs. My students are on IEP's, (Individual Educational Plans). Most of my student's plan fall under Specific Learning Disability or Communications Disability. The population in my room changes from year to year. This year in 4th grade, I have 6 boys and 1 girl and in the 5th, 6 boys and 2 girls. My students are the heart and soul of my room. Here at the school, we are committed to preparing our students of tomorrow. We're committed to provide a rigorous academic program supported by staff, devoted parents and community working collaboratively and learning together. Our motto is "I am, because you are!"
