By the end of the year, we all want our students to show substantial growth in all academic areas. One of the problems I am facing is that many have lost that "spark" for reading. I am looking to "hook" them with this fantastic piece of literature. Wonder, written by R.J. Palacio.
I teach 5th grade ELA in Lowell, Massachusetts. My students are hard-working, funny, thoughtful, and resilient. Although many of them are growing up in an area facing high levels of poverty, our school is always looking for new ways to engage and encourage students to rise to the top!
