My 3rd grade classroom is a full inclusion classroom of 25 students which teaches to an extremely wide range of learners.
Our students come from an Urban setting and a variety of family backgrounds. We have a diverse student background, including children with Autism and Downs Syndrome. In our class, we service children with many disabilities along with their typical peers.
At my school, we teach our students through the Station Teaching model, and we use the Universal Design of Learning (UDL) to design lessons which are engaging and rigorous for all of our students. Every student learns differently and we customize our lessons to accommodate each student individually. We feel that this gives our students the greatest opportunity to succeed.
