I have six classrooms of about 30 students each in a large, suburban public school. They are an amazing and curious group of 6th graders. We have a very diverse mixture of students - low income, Gifted, Second language learners, and Exceptional Education students. They are always excited to come to Science class. For many students, this is their first opportunity to use real scientific equipment, perform their own experiments and make exciting discoveries.
Many students do not have many resources outside of the school. However, every child has a thirst for knowledge. Their faces light up when they discover the answer to a question that they thought of all by themselves. They are fantastic, budding young group of scientists!
