The majority of my students speak Spanish as a first language with parents who only speak Spanish at home. The families in this area are low-income and our students lack the resources at home to help them improve their reading skills. The students at our school are so eager to learn, but the parents at this school have a difficult time affording many of the necessities needed to help, We as teachers would like to help our students learn by helping them go beyond the classroom.
