My school is in a city, where we have very diverse ethnic and financial backgrounds. Some of my students have access to technology at home, and others have no access except at school. Unfortunately, we only have one classroom computer and access to the computer lab once a week for 30 minutes. There are many computer programs, apps, and websites that my students enjoy for math and reading, but little to no access to them.
The iPads would enhance their math and literacy centers, and allow them access to technology more than once a week. Plus, what kid wouldn't enjoy working on an iPad?
