Welcome to our 5th grade in Mobile, Alabama! I try to create a vibrant learning space where the past meets the power of language! Our room, history isn’t just a subject, it’s a story waiting to be told. With engaging groups, we explore the rich threads of American and world history by weaving them directly into our reading and writing. From analyzing historical fiction and primary sources in reading, to crafting persuasive essays and time-travel journals in English, students are challenged to think deeply, write creatively, and connect emotionally with historical events and figures. Our classroom is a dynamic blend of timelines and text evidence, where students debate, reflect, and create—building skills in literacy and critical thinking while gaining a deep appreciation for the people and events that shaped our world.
