In order to instill the love of reading in my students, I feel it is necessary to provide an organized library and designated reading area in my classroom. Although I do have many books for children to choose from, the current state of organization is not conducive to choosing books quickly. My books are in book bins and need to constantly be reorganized, thus requiring a tremendous amount of maintenance.
I imagine an updated classroom library to house my books neatly on the shelves of new bookcases. The colorful spine labels on the books will be visible for all children to see and the students will be able to identify where books belong based on the color of the labels. An added bonus will be fun, new flexible seating for students to sit on after they choose their awesome book!
