Organization is key in a science classroom where approximately 150 students come and go every day. Each of my third and fourth grade students has a science journal, and they need to be able to enter the classroom and find their journal in a matter of minutes so that we can begin our bell work without sacrificing learning time.
Having bookshelves that are organized will help my students find their science journals in the same place every day. I want them to know that everyone's belongings have a home and are valued. Doing this will continue to promote a sense of community in my classroom.
