My students are eager to learn and when it comes to nutrition they think they have it all figured out. 9th and 10th graders who think they know it all when it comes to what they eat.
Our school is located in a small rural town, where 41% of students qualify for free or reduced lunches. I want to be able to provide my students with real life, up to date, information on nutrition. With the help of "Your Food is Fooling You", I will be able to accomplish this. This book will help bring students' food choices into perspective.
The closest city is about one hour in any direction, so the students do not have many options when it comes to food. We have a small grocery store and 2 fast food options. I want my students to know that they don't have to live in a big city to eat healthy, they can do it with what they have available in our community.
