So often when a scholar has a learning disability, such as autism, many focus on that disability, instead of their ability. Most of my students are on the autism spectrum. That tells me that they have special abilities. Some are excellent at math skills, while some are excellent at comprehension and reading skills. Some are excellent spellers, while others are great at time management. Put all of their abilities together and you have one dynamic classroom.
My classroom consists of scholars in from 3 to 6 year old. I have a wide range of skills that need to be taught. They love to learn too! From day one I have them engaged in learning and they love it.
