As an Early Intervention Teacher, I have learned the importance of helping families create developmentally appropriate learning activities to help their child reach their fullest potential. Many times it is possible to use what is already in the home to create learning opportunities, but often times I find that developmentally appropriate books (integral for early learning) are absent from homes. So I have chosen interactive books and sensory learning cards to help fill this gap. With this grant, I will be able to give every child one book and one set of cards (as well as a learning guide that I have created) for activities that promote cognitive, social, fine motor, and language development.
