My students are 66 sixth grade math students, two classes of 33. Students at my middle school come from a wide range of backgrounds, including many military families.
Two years ago my district moved from a junior high model to a middle school model. While the transition for students and families may have been uncertain, the amazing team of teachers I work with have provided students every opportunity for success. With our second year underway, we have already seen tremendous academic and social growth in our 6th graders.
Sixth grade classes last for 90 minutes a day, with one class ran like an intervention class. During that time I reteach skills, correct mathematical misunderstandings and provide enrichment activities.
