My students are an amazing group of individuals who need both academic and emotional support. Our classroom is also a safe place for them to come when they are feeling overwhelmed or anxious. These puzzles would be a wonderful addition to the safe place. Students would be able to work on these puzzles independently and use the time to self-regulate. Focusing their minds and bodies on an activity like problem solving is beneficial when working toward self-regulation. Providing my students with another outlet to help them work through big emotions is crucial.
