My students come from all walks of life. Living in "oil country" you find families with tons of money and opportunities all the way to students who struggle to find a meal at night. No matter their home life, students are excited to come to school. I have never seen a school that had such spirit and excitement in its hallways. My 8th graders have a history of struggling in math and science. They continue to work in the classroom and are passionate about improving. My classes are made up of your typical teenage students with all of your standard teenage drama. However, I find it amazing how they support each other. Whether it is an athletic event or even studying for a quiz, they build each other up. They are respectful of each other and push each other. I know it is a cliche, but I love going to work everyday and watching these young men and women grow. I work in an amazing community filled with incredible parents and students. I only hope I can do my part to help out.
