I have not encountered many kindergarteners in my teaching experience that haven't enjoyed showing me ALL the things that they know! I'd like to capture the children's enthusiasm (and required data) by using a fun way to assess each child's understanding of kindergarten concepts. With the addition of new individual whiteboard "paddles", students can quickly write down answers to a question and hold them up for me to see. Colorful "post it" notes will also be used to collect student responses. Collecting all of this information, in a fun and timely manner, will give me snapshot of how well students are understanding and to adjust my teaching to better meet their needs. Our new tools will also address the importance of keeping kindergarteners AcTiVeLy involved and getting a chance to "SHOW what they KNOW!"
