I am asking for early reader books that my students can use to connect with our economics lessons. These books include "Benny's Pennies," "Saving Money," "Pigs Will Be Pigs Fun with Math and Money" and "Honey Bunny!" and will help them be able to identify needs and wants, costs and savings. The iPads with protective cases will be used to support grade level money lessons for my students. Students will have access to wonderful apps and websites like Skill.com, Raz-Kids and Xtra Math that will help them become financially literate. The math-grid activity carpet features a complete 120 grid and will be perfect for all sorts of math activities—from counting and operations to place value.
Through these books, activity math-grid carpet and interactive apps and websites, my 1st graders will learn about counting money, budgeting expenses and even planning trips and how to save for items they want.
