I am a First Grade Teacher and a Veteran. I am planning a program called "Take a Veteran to School Day" on November the 7th. We will invite veterans from the community to join our celebration. The 150 first grade students will learn patriotism by making their own American Flag to fly while they sing their songs to the Veterans. We are teaching honor, patriotism , and about our heroes. We are showing to our community that we can care and learn at the same time. With these flag kits the children will also get to do an art project. When I was in the Air Force I was a singer and I got to sing my favorite song to Lee Greenwood. "I Am Proud To Be an American" We will get to make the Veterans proud when 150 students sing this song and other patriotic songs to them. Thank-you for considering the proposal. You will make a lot of first graders and a community happy.
