My students are mostly low income, coming to school and being fed two meals a day on free or reduced price lunch. Our school is diverse in a farm community with migrant workers. We have many students who have never been out of our relatively small town. School is the only place that gives them the opportunity to explore possibilities an education can take them.
My students need access to text that they can read and analyze like Poppleton in Winter, National Geographic Kids Abraham Lincoln, and Cowgirl Kate and Cocoa.
