Your generous donation will help provide sensory input for my students. Students with Sensory processing disorder need to be provided with stimulants (sensory toys) to allow for proper functioning and growth in the classroom. We all seek our own sensory input, whether it be tapping our feet or chewing a pen cap, to better focus our own attention. Sensory items are instrumental tools in helping children develop and learn.
Sensory toys have been known to calm nerves, promote focus and concentration, increase attention and maintain a "just right" level of alertness. With your help, students can have a more meaningful learning experience and absorb much more!
Our Body Sox will be used to help promote self-soothing while the Jiggle Massagers will offer oral stimulation to those with chewing and mouthing deficits. Numerous students are hypersensitive to noise so the noise canceling head phones will help block out noises that are overly loud and provide our students with some relief in public spaces. Water Beads provide calmness when children become overly stimulated and a Spin Disc can provide balance and coordination while getting sensory input.
