Our student body consists of 475 Kindergarten- 5th grade students. Most of our students come from poor inner city neighborhoods. Our students come from many diverse backgrounds and speak many different languages. We have students from all over the world, such as Burma, Pakistan, Africa and Puerto Rico. Through our PBIS (positive, behavioral support and interventions) program we recognize positive behavior instead of emphasizing negative behavior. We begin every day reciting the school pledge and "Striving for Five", being here, being safe, being respectful, being responsible, and being active learners. We catch students doing the right thing and reward them for this. Through this program we are able to create a positive environment and make school and learning fun.
