I work in small groups with elementary school students on their personal speech and language goals. I focus each day on having my students learn to communicate effectively and positively, with a hope to create students who are strong academically and socially.
My students are elementary students in a Title I school.
This means that a high percentage of our students come from low-income homes and are either failing or considered at risk of failing to meet current academic standards. They are kind and happy kids who are not yet aware of any disadvantages they face.
Our school struggles with a constant lack of materials to support our students' educational needs. I have found donor's choose to be an incredible bridge between what I want to give my students and what I am able to do personally.
