These books will connect problems that my students have with fictional characters that they will relate to and who communicate what their problems are, how others perceive them and how they worked to overcome the issues. In one book, the main character has ADHD and works through the diagnosis, the medical process and how she works to make her life great. In the second book, the character's mom is suffering through depression and has become non-functioning. Throughout the story, the characters work to understand the issues and through their understanding, a way to get cope.
My goal is for students to read and relate to these characters.
